The City of Pasadena’s Human Services Commission will hold its regular meeting on Wednesday, April 12, at the Grand Conference Room S038 at City Hall.

As new business, the Commission will determine the date and location of its annual retreat. Last year’s retreat was held on June 25 at the La Casita Del Arroyo at 177 South Arroyo Blvd.

After deciding on the retreat, the Commission’s chair, Tony Santilena, will give an update about the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), a project of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development that funds local community development activities such as affordable housing, anti-poverty programs, and infrastructure development.

He will also report on the upcoming Leadership Pasadena Workshop which usually starts in September. The workshop is attended by top leadership from different agencies in Pasadena. The Commission’s Chair and Vice Chair are scheduled to attend this workshop.

After the Chair’s report, the different committees will have their turn reporting updates on their activities. The Pasadena Council for the Young Child will give an update on the launch of the Office of the Young Child slated for September 23.

Other reports will come from Foster Care Youth Issues Committee and the Youth Council.

The Human Services Commission meeting opens at 6 p.m.
