Hundreds of Seasonal and Part-Time Jobs Up for Grabs Offer During Sodexo Magic Job Fair at the Rose Bowl

Sodexo Magic, the merger of international food and facilities manager Sodexo and Magic Johnson Enterprises, which has a long-standing reputation in business strategy and creativity, is holding a Job Fair on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, April 11 and 12, at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.

At stake are openings for hundreds of seasonal and part-time positions with the company, for such jobs as stock workers and receivers, warehouse personnel, food service supervisors and workers, concessions supervisors, and bartenders, among others.

The Job Fair will be on from 12 noon to 6 p.m.

Kevin Hengehold, General Manager of Sodexo Magic, the jobs available in this event are mostly part-time on-call positions as the Rose Bowl gears up for the summer.

“We have large hirings every year to gear up for the bust summer season, and we always wanted to target Pasadena residents; we know the importance of hiring locally,” Hengehold says.

Most of the positions required are basically group into two-types: stock worker/receiver/concourse set-up person that does events setup and breakdown and warehouse operations, and food service workers such as stand managers or shift leaders, and concession supervisors who would oversee the operation of specific concession stands.

During these busy summer events, Sodexo Magic partners with local nonprofit organizations who will be manning the food concession stands.

“We man concession stands with nonprofit organizations and we always want to have somebody with experience managing food and beverage locations for food safety, for service, for accountability, to oversee those groups working those stands,” says Hengehold.

Even with only part-time positions available at the Job Fair, Hengehold says these opportunities could lead to more permanent jobs in the future.

“Sodexo Magic has many accounts throughout the region that provide opportunities for more steady work because they may be in college campuses and such,” he said.

Hengehold relates his first job as a teenager was at a concession stand, and he has not stopped ever since.

One of the concessionaires getting ready for the busy summer at the Rose Bowl is Robin Salzer, who owns Robin’s Wood Fire BBQ, who’s thankful Sodexo Magic offers this opportunity for Pasadena area job seekers and non-profits as well.

“I really must give Sodexo-Magic and its GM Kevin Hengehold credit for this community outreach because it is long overdue and they believe in it,” Salzer saud. “The jobs available should be offered to our residents in Pasadena-Altadena first and then and only then offered to folks outside of our area.”

Sodexo Magic also maintains a listing of job vacancies in all their locations nationwide at www.sodexo.balancetrak.com.
