As we move into flu season, it is important that Pasadena residents take steps to guard against the flu, doctors say.
The Huntington Hospital is offering free flu shots at various locations throughout Altadena, Pasadena and South Pasadena, through November 18, 2017.
Vaccines are for adults 18 years and over, and for children ages 9-17 years old with a parent or guardian present for consent.
These flu shot clinics offer the standard quadrivalent seasonal flu vaccine that is widely available. It protects against four strains of the influenza virus, including A ((H1N1), A (H3N2), B (Victoria lineage), B (Yamagata lineage). The single dose vaccines do not contain Thimerosal preservative.
Pregnant or nursing mothers can receive this vaccine, the Hospital said in a release.
The standard vaccines are free to the public and no reservations or appointments are required. Please note there is a limited supply of vaccines for each clinic.
