All hospitals need blood, and as the region’s only trauma center, Huntington Memorial Hospital is no exception. The hospital has launched its blood donation drive and encouraging Pasadena donors to visit its Blood Donor Center.
In a message on its Facebook page, the hospital said much of the medical care it provides depends on a steady supply of voluntary blood donations.
“Donations given at our Blood Donor Center are vital to helping those in need. If there is a blood shortage, our hospital has to purchase blood through the Red Cross. By encouraging your friends and families to donate to our Blood Donor Center, you are helping people right here in our community, especially during flu season. You could save a life!”
Plan ahead and make an appointment, but be aware that the Blood Donor Center will be closed today and tomorrow (January 31 and February 1).
For more information about your eligibility to donate or to make an appointment, call the Blood Donor Center later this week at (626) 397-5422 or visit https://www.huntingtonhospital.org/giveblood.
