I-710/SR-60 Connectors and Lanes Closed This Weekend

Some Closures will Last 55-Hours

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) today announced that the connectors at Interstate 710 (Long Beach Freeway) and State Route 60 (Pomona Freeway) will be closed for long periods, and southbound lanes and ramps will be closed for 55 hours, over the July 22 to 25 weekend as crews place pre-cast pavement slabs.

Specific closure times and locations are:

Fri., July 22, 11 p.m. – Sat., July 23, 6 a.m. and again Sat., midnight to Sun., 7 a.m.:
Northbound I-710 to east and westbound SR-60.

Fri., July 22, 10 p.m. – Monday, July 25, 5 a.m.:
Southbound I-710 right lane from 3rd Street to I-5
3rd Street on-ramp to southbound I-710
East and westbound SR-60 connectors to southbound I-710
Whittier/Olympic boulevards off-ramp from southbound I-710

I-710 will remain open.

Detour signs will be posted. Work is weather permitting.

As part of a $120 million pavement replacement project on I-710 from I-105 to I-10, this project is installing precast concrete panels as well as repairing concrete slabs in various traffic lanes and locations, upgrading the median barrier, and constructing maintenance pullouts along the route to enhance safety for maintenance crews.

Shimmick/Myers and Sons Joint Venture Construction on the project is expected to be completed in 2016.
