Vice Mayor Jacque Robinson will leave office on Monday, May 4, 2015

Neighbors & Friends:

I want to take this moment to say THANK YOU on behalf of my family and I for your contributions of time, money, prayers, and well wishes in my campaign for Mayor of the City of Pasadena.

I am sure some of you join me in my profound disappointment on the final disposition of votes. I am proud of my campaign and the team I secured to ensure I we had a competitive election and open eyes to the issues that exist in Pasadena beyond historic preservation and development south of the 210 freeway. While those are important issues – so too are decreasing gun violence, increasing affordable housing, stronger support for the greatness that exists within our public schools, economic development opportunities for our business corridors of need like Lincoln Avenue and East Pasadena – these are the issues and more that I hope will be not just discussed by the future city council, but formulate and fund long term solutions.

I am eternally grateful for each of you that voted for me, endorsed, and believed in my vision of Moving Pasadena Forward to create a more progressive Pasadena.

I was able to run for Mayor because of the unending support of my family and every Pasadena organization and individual that touched my life growing up in the same house, on the same corner, for the last 36 years. I am newly engaged and look forward to beginning this chapter of my life. I took great risk in running for Mayor and had to give up my council seat representing District 1 to do so. Thus, my time on the city council is nearing end on May 4th (ceremonial council meeting at 4:00).

This is not the last you’ll see of me in public service. Pasadena is my home and I will run again someday! I wish Mr. Tornek well in his new role. I invite you to join me and my field representative Tina Williams on Saturday, May 2nd for our final District event – a hosted ice cream social at Perry’s Joint located at 2051 Lincoln Avenue. Stop by anytime 11am-1pm. Feel free to keep in touch with me at hon.jacquerobinson@gmail.com or (626) 559-1103.  I remain Pasadena Proud.

Jacque Robinson
