Janette Williams, long-time Pasadena Star-News staff writer, has died, Star-News Editor Frank Girardot said Monday afternoon.

“The Star-News lost both its heart and its soul,” Girardot said.

Williams was 68. Her last published article appeared in the paper just days ago, on July 20.

Memorial details are pending. Additional information will be published as it becomes available.

[PUBLISHER’S NOTE —  We at Pasadena Now are shocked and saddened at Janette’s passing. She was a joy to know. Janette always had a twinkle in her eye and a devilishly witty remark to unleash. I shared a common Scottish ancestry with her, and she loved to talk about her family in her beloved homeland. We miss her sorely, already.  James Macpherson]
