Jeanne K. Chung, owner and designer of Cozy Stylish Chic, hosted an animated launch party for prospective designers and participants in the charity tablescape design competition “The World of Conversation” coming to the Pasadena Convention Center in the Fall.

“I am thrilled to chair this year’s Setting the Table as bringing together the local design community has been a passion project for me for quite some time and this is the perfect way to do it – by bringing together a diverse group of creative minds, having fun AND inspiring the community around us. Having a local design event that celebrates designers with different levels of experience, design aesthetics and resources under one roof is exactly what we need to create a more cohesive design community that promotes collaboration over competition. I believe that this will be a pivotal year for Setting the Table and I can’t wait to see where this takes us in future years. Thank you to Leadership Pasadena and Junior League Pasadena for being a vital force in making our community a more vibrant place to live,” Chung explained.

70 guests enjoyed food and beverages including wines donated by Bodega Wine Bar, Buzzbox premium cocktail tastings and donated desserts from Nothing Bundt Cakes. Professional lighting was donated by Lionmark Entertainment.

Guest viewed the beautiful and unique tabletop creation of Jeanne Chung and Anthony Guthmiller to get inspired to design their own tablescape design for the competition on November 9.

Anthony Guthmiller was thrilled with the launch party turnout, “I am so excited to see the response from all the designers who attended our Kick-Off event for Setting the Table. I look forward to seeing all the amazing and creative tablescapes that I know our local artists and designers will be creating. Some of the ideas guests were sharing with me sound fantastic. Continue to think outside the box, reinvent the concept of what ‘setting the table’ entails… around the world in 80 plates, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Rolls Royce dining… how exciting!”

Leaders from the Junior League of Pasadena and Leadership Pasadena expressed their gratitude to Jeanne and Anthony for their leadership of this exciting event and encouraged all the guests to join in and participate in the fall event.

“We are so grateful for Jeanne Chung’s leadership and Anthony Guthmiller’s vision and inspiration of this very special event benefiting the two top community leadership charities in the city,” according to LP Board member Mary Spellman.

Per Junior League President Charlotte Miles, “We are elated to be in such great company with Jeanne, Anthony, and everyone who attended the kick-off last night. The only way we are going to further both organizations and grow the fall event is by working together and I think this kind of collaboration is exactly what Pasadena needs.”

This designer showcase event will allow local designers, floral artists, lifestyle providers and select non-profits to compete for a full-page color ad in LA Dreams Magazine, a $6,000 value, by creating a dining table for 8 to celebrate the power and importance of conversations around the world and across cultures, even here at home. Invited guests will vote on their favorite table to determine the winning table with enjoying delicious food and beverages and other lifestyle experiences.
