Police are investigating after a safe filled with jewelry vanished from a Pasadena home early Wednesday.

Residents of the 1000 block of East Topeka Street noticed the microwave oven-size safe missing from their home shortly after noon on Wednesday, Pasadena police Lt. Max Dahlstein said. They had last seen the safe, which contained a “significant” amount of jewelry, about 9:15 p.m. the previous night.

There were no signs the home had been ransacked, according to the lieutenant. The burglar or burglars ignored other valuables, targeting only the safe.

Dahlstein declined to discuss the contents of the stolen safe, or their value, in detail, citing the ongoing investigation.

No information regarding a suspect was available Thursday.

Anyone with information can reach Pasadena police at (626) 744-4241. Tips may also be submitted anonymously to L.A. Regional Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
