Jim Osterling Announces Campaign for Pasadena Community College Board

USC Adjunct Professor Jim Osterling, MBA announced today that he will be seeking election to the Pasadena Area Community College Board of Trustees for Area 2. Area 2 includes the City of Sierra Madre and the portions of the City of Pasadena and Altadena that are north of the 210 freeway and east of Lake Avenue.

Jim Osterling stated “As a Certified Public Accountant and University of Southern California Real Estate Finance Professor[JAO1] [MT2] , I am running to preserve PCC’s fiscal discipline and to make certain that PCC resources are focused on student needs.”

Osterling also stated “I’m pleased to be endorsed by Pasadena Mayor Terry Tornek, PCC Trustee Ross Selvidge, PCC Foundation Past President Mel Cohen, PUSD School Board Member Scott Phelps, Sierra Madre City Council Member Rachelle Arizmendi and Altadena Community Standards District Chairman and past Altadena Town Council member Ed Meyers. I intend to run a fully-funded, issues based campaign.”

Jim Osterling has dedicated his 36 year professional career to corporate and real estate finance, serving as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Executive Vice President (EVP) and as an executive committee member for several prominent companies headquartered in Southern California before starting his own company in 2002.
In addition, Mr. Osterling has more than 10 years of experience as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Southern California where he teaches courses in real estate and finance.

Jim Osterling has an extensive record of local public and government service including:

• Board of Directors of a $75 million affordable housing project
• Board of Directors & Treasurer of the Arroyos & Foothills Conservancy
• Vice-Chairman of the Altadena Community Standards District
• 15 years as a volunteer sports coach for local groups like Pasadena AYSO, Pasadena YMCA, East Altadena Little League & the Brotherhood Crusade.

Mr. Osterling and his wife of 35 years have lived within the PCC district for 30 years. He has an MBA from Northwestern University and is a Certified Public Accountant (non-active license).
