Easter worshipers at La Canada Presbyterian Church will have six different services from which to choose, including traditional and contemporary services offered simultaneously at 9:25 and 11:00 a.m. The services will culminate a full schedule of Holy Week offerings at the church.

Easter Sunday, April 5, will begin with a Sunrise Service at 6:30 a.m. at Hahamongna Watershed Park. Attendees will be able to worship, celebrate the resurrection and participate in communion in a service led by the LCPC Youth Ministry Team. A sound system will be set up so that all can hear. Everyone is invited to dress casually and bring a blanket to sit on.

A worship service will be offered in the church Sanctuary at 7:55 a.m., featuring the LCPC Chancel Choir and Orchestra. At 9:25 and at 11, services will be presented simultaneously – traditional worship with choir and orchestra in the Sanctuary, contemporary worship with the Praise Band in the Worship Arts Center. At 9:25, there will also be family-friendly overflow seating in the Family Life Center, with beverages and goodies. –

Other Holy Week events include:

Maundy Thursday Communion Service: April 2, 7 p.m. Commemorate the Last Supper of Jesus Christ as he shared with the Apostles the meal of the new covenant.

Good Friday “Were You There?”: April 3, 7:30 p.m. This drama of the crucifixion uses actors, music and video to retell the last moments of Jesus’ life through Scripture. It is presented by the LCPC Drama Ministry and Praise Band.

Holy Saturday: April 4, 9 to 10 a.m. in the Cook Prayer Chapel. This meditative service offers attendees an opportunity to listen and consider the “in-between” and “not-yet” moments of life.
