LaSalle High School Honors Academic Excellence

On Thursday morning, September 20, 2012, La Salle High School honored students for their academic achievements from the June 2012 Semester. Presiding over the ceremony was Mr. Frank Laurenzello, Associate Principal for Curriculum and Instruction.

The ceremony opened with a prayer from the president of the National Honor Society, Kevin Walsh, class of 13 and a rousing keynote address was delivered by faculty member and La Salle graduate, Brandon Birr, class of 03. La Salle principal, Brother Christopher Brady addressed the assembly and really hit home stressing the value of achievements to be awarded along with the life-long value of their La Salle education.

Members of the Administration on stage and adorning their Academic Robes included Dr. Richard Grey – President, Br. Christopher Brady, FSC – Principal, Mr. Patrick Bonacci, AFSC – Vice-President for Mission, Mr. John Ring – Associate Principal for Student Services, Mr. Frank Laurenzello – Associate Principal for Curriculum and Instruction, Mr. Robert Packard – Chief Financial Officer. Also joining them on stage were Mr. Peter Griffith – Past Chairperson of the Board of Trustees and current member of the Board of Regents and Mr. Dennis Jebbia – Chairperson of the Board of Regents.

Up to 25% of the entire La Salle student body qualified for the following Academic Awards: Lasallian Academic Excellence & Gold Certificate – Both awarded for having a weighted 4.0 GPA or higher.

Academic Achievement Award – Awarded to students who raised their GPA by .5 or more when compared to the previous semester.

California Scholarship Federation, National Honor Society & Science National Honor Society – Awarded The total number of recipients awarded was 183.
