Setting the Table “The World of Conversation” delivered a new kind of charity event to Pasadena on November 13.

It was a visual extravaganza with 28 gorgeous designed tables plus great bites, beverages and dessert and a fabulous auction. Jordi & Co with Jacob Maarse Florists and David Orgell San Marino, the Pasadena Humane Society and Forest Lawn took top honors at the beautiful design competition, each winning a $6,000 full page color ad in LA Dreams Magazine.

Proceeds of the evening benefited Leadership Pasadena and the Junior League of Pasadena.

Event Co-Chair Jeanne Chung explained, “My vision was to see the creative forces in the Pasadena design community come together and inspire by pushing the boundaries of design, and on Saturday they did exactly that. All that participated went beyond their comfort level, and that to me was exciting, as too often we are bound by what others dictate. On Saturday the designers were free to experiment and put together a design that truly reflects their own design aesthetic and sensibility. Setting the Table was a stimulating evening for the designers, organizers, and attendees and such a thrill to see everyone’s hard work culminate the way it did. The room buzzed with excitement and anticipation. It is truly rewarding when you see design taken to a different level where for so long, the norm has been to play it safe. So many new conversations and collaborations formed as a result of Setting the Table and I can’t wait see where these new relationships go!”

Event Co-Chair Anthony Guthmiller of Aluxe shared a similar vision for this event–to provide a vehicle and venue where creative souls could interpret their ideas into a table setting that would inspire others.

“I was thrilled to see all the creative expression at Saturday evenings Setting the Table, the Art of Conversation event. They say art is the truest expression of one’s soul. Saturday we witnessed a collection of amazing souls’ expressions. The time, energy and art that was created in each of the tablescapes was so inspiring. It was also great to see people connect with each other. Imagine what will happen from all these connections and inspiration,” according to Anthony.
