Leadership Pasadena’s mission is to create exceptional, engaged community leaders for the betterment of the greater Pasadena community. Serving on non-profit Boards is an important way graduates can make an impact and Leadership Pasadena (LP) is proud to partner with Jericho Road Pasadena to provide Board matching services for LP participants starting next month.

“LP produces well-trained, empowered and connected volunteers ready to help and we want to make it as easy as possible for our LP graduates to find the right Board placement for them. Jericho Road is the perfect partner for us to accomplish this goal,” according to Cindy Bengtson, volunteer Executive Director for Leadership Pasadena. “Melanie Goodyear and her Board excel at this and we are excited to provide her with a pool of ready candidates to match to our local non-profits.”

Jericho Road’s expertise is bridging communities by matching the professional talents of volunteers with the needs of community-based nonprofit organizations to promote community development, strengthen social services, and enrich the lives of volunteers. Jericho Road Pasadena was spearheaded by members of Neighborhood Unitarian Universalist Church of Pasadena, who worked with the Flintridge Center to assess whether there was a need in the local nonprofit community for capacity-building services. When the answer was a clear “Yes,” local volunteers began raising operating funds and creating its structure. For seven years now, Jericho Road Pasadena has served the Pasadena community by providing nonprofit community benefit organizations needed professional or technical expertise free of charge.

Leadership Pasadena is a hands-on, community leadership program that immerses you in Pasadena’s rich history, government and world renowned organizations and institutions. The program provides participants with 24 hours of personal leadership training, a 2-day offsite Ropes course experience, 2 hours of one on one executive coaching, 60 hours of Pasadena community education and 40 hours of community service learning.
