A Wednesday Evening Prayer and Meditation is offered by La Cañada Presbyterian Church for the season of Lent, through March 23. The new series takes place Wednesdays from 6:15 to 7:00 p.m. in the churchs Cook Prayer Chapel, 626 Foothill Blvd., La Cañada.
In the middle of the busy work week, sometimes what we really need are a few minutes of spiritual renewal, says Rob Tribken, one of the organizers. We hope to provide a peaceful setting where this might take place.
The Wednesday Prayer and Meditation offers an opportunity to listen to sacred music, hear a passage of scripture read, and enjoy the silence of meditative prayer. There will be no sermon or lecture. Attendees are not required to speak and can certainly remain anonymous if they choose to do so. More information is available at lacanadapc.org/midweekprayer and at midweekprayer.org.
Everyone is welcome, regardless of religious beliefs or affiliations. Because of busy work schedules, punctuality and regular attendance are not expected; to accommodate both early and late arrivals, the music will start fifteen minutes before the official start, and the Chapel and Prayer Garden will remain open until 8:00. Come as you are, when you are able says Tribken.
