Pasadena Now received this letter in connection the following article: City Considers Removing Tree near New Kaiser Permanente School of Medicine:
With what we now know about the relentless march of Climate Change, we must protect every tree in our community and not look to destroy any of them. Why, because they join the oceans as one of the few ways of removing carbon dioxide from our air. Kaiser of all places should certainly know this and the fact that there is currently no proven technology that can do this. As a medical teaching hospital, Kaiser should be on the forefront of tree protection and not applying to the City to remove one of Pasadena’s lovely old-growth carbon removing street trees. Shame on you Kaiser.
