Local Attorney Earns Two Appointments in Pasadena’s Legal Community

The Law Offices of Donald P. Schweitzer, Pasadena’s premier family law firm today congratulates family law attorney Casey Marticorena for her two recent appointments to the Pasadena Family Law Mediation Panel Volunteer, and Pasadena Bar Association (PBA) Trustee for the 2015 Board.

As a Family Law Mediator for the Los Angeles Superior Court Family Law Departments, Ms. Marticorena will act as a pro bono settlement officer assisting litigants mediate their cases.

The need for pro bono family law mediators follows the recent closure of the Burbank family law court and the transfer of many cases to the Pasadena Superior Court House Family Law Departments.

Ms. Marticorena has also been appointed a trustee to the PBA’s 2015 Board of Trustees during the annual PBA board installation, which took place October 15, 2014. A member of the PBA since 2007, this will be Ms. Marticorena’s first term serving on the board.

As a board member of the PBA, Casey will attend all of the board meetings and cast her vote on important issues as they arise. She will also be active in various committees and will work toward making our local bar and profession better.

Ms. Marticorena began with the firm as Associate Attorney and is currently one of the firm’s Senior Attorneys, and handles various aspects of family law, including child custody disputes, child support, spousal support and division of property and domestic violence.

Ms. Marticorena attended Southwestern University School of Law where she received a CALI Award for excellence in family law. While at Southwestern, she was an extern for the Target Crimes Division of Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office and the Judicial Extern to the Honorable Judge Amy M. Pellman of the Los Angeles Superior Court, Family Law Division.

Prior to Southwestern University, Ms. Marticorena attended the University of California, Irvine and graduated Cum Laude, receiving her Bachelor of Arts in behavioral psychology. She also graduated UC Irvine as a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a prestigious national honors society.
