Pasadena Water and Power is now accepting applications for its annual Educational Scholarship, the utility announced.
Under the program, one high school senior from Pasadena will be chosen to receive a $5,000 educational scholarship to a two- or four-year accredited, post-secondary institution for the upcoming academic year. The program is open to students from both public and private schools.
To apply, students must submit an application, academic transcripts, and write an essay about a topic related to energy and water conservation, and detail how PWP can better communicate its core messages to various audiences.
Applicants must live within PWP’s service territory, be currently enrolled as a high school senior in the City of Pasadena, and provide proof of acceptance for the 2018-19 school year at an accredited two-year or four-year post-secondary institution. The deadline to submit an application is April 16, 2018.
PWP introduced the Educational Scholarship in 2014 as part of its commitment to empowering and investing in Pasadena’s youth. Since inception, the scholarship has seen strong participation from Pasadena’s high school students.
