Cabrera’s Mexican Restaurant is saying Olé! to this year’s Pasadena Latino Heritage Parade by donating 25 percent of its food sales on July 26 to support the community event.
The Parade and Jamaica is an annual celebration of Latino history, arts, and culture.
The October 13 event begins with a colorful parade followed by cultural activities, food, music, and dance in a festival, referred to in Spanish as a jamaica.
This year’s theme will highlight Latinos in entertainment from throughout Pasadena and the surrounding cities.
Events leading up to the Parade and Festival include a Copa de las Americanas Soccer Tournament at the Rose Bowl.
The City of Pasadena-sponsored event is estimated to have an attendance of 2,500 people this year.
The parade will start on Prescott Street and Los Robles Avenue, move south on Los Robles to Villa Street, and end at the Villa Parke Community Center, at 363 East Villa Street, for the annual Festival.
On August 30, El Cholo Café Pasadena, located at the Paseo Colorado, will host a Fiesta Dinner Celebration featuring Mariachi and Dancers, from 6 to 8 p.m. Tickets are $55.
Cabrera’s customers only need to present a flyer, downloadable from the Pasadena Latino Heritage Parade website, when they visit the restaurant on July 26.
