Local Woman Found Dead in Pasadena Medical Center Parking Lot

Pasadena police said a 69-year-old local woman was apparently beaten to death after her body was spotted by a passerby about 3 p.m. in the parking lot of a medical building near Huntington Hospital.

The woman’s identity was not released pending notification of her next of kin.

The parking lot is in the 100 block of Alessandro Place, just west of South Fair Oaks Avenue, authorities said.

Pasadena police Lt. Mark Goodman said that paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.

Authorities hesitated to call the death a homicide, referring to it only as “suspicious” and saying the investigation was in its early stages. Homicide investigators, however, were called to the scene.

Police said nearby security camera video will be examined in hopes they will reveal what happened to the woman.

“Hopefully,” Lt. Jesse Carrillo told KCAL “we can locate cameras within a path that she traveled, may have traveled, who she may have been accompanied with, was she alone? That sort of thing still needs to be looked into.”

Police also told KCAL the woman does not appear to have been homeless.

Officials ask anyone with any information about the woman’s death to contact them immediately at (626)- 744-4241 or you may report information anonymously by calling “Crime Stoppers” by dialing (800) 222-TIPS (8477), use your smartphone by downloading the “P3 Tips” Mobile APP on Google Play or the Apple App Store or by using the website http://lacrimestoppers.org.
