Los Altos Auxiliary Installs 2015/2016 Officers and New Members

The Los Altos Auxiliary, which raises funds for the children and adolescents who are in residential treatment at Hathaway-Sycamores Child and Family Services’ El Nido campus in Altadena, recently held their annual Installation luncheon at Oakmont Country Club in Glendale. 2015-2016 presidents Laura Campobasso and Michele Listo were announced, along with new members Susan Artime, Roma Mahrer, Chris Goetz, and Connie Sutherland.

Guests also included: Hathaway-Sycamores’ Executive Vice President of Development Rob Myers; Hathaway-Sycamores’ Interim President and CEO Debbie Manners; and Hathaway-Sycamores Director of Peer-to-Peer Support Gayle Wiler, who served as the luncheon’s speaker.
2014-2015 Los Altos Auxiliary Co-Presidents Jennifer Herzer and Laura Campobasso thanked the board and presented each board member with a special gift, and a special recognition was made in honor of 25-year member Kathy MacDonald.

Each year the Auxiliary raises money that is used to benefit the youngsters who call Hathaway-Sycamores’ El Nido campus home. This year’s gifts included: fulfilling the residents’ holiday wish lists and delivering homemade holiday treats; sponsoring several spring and summer activities; funding a Disneyland trip for residents and chaperones; providing Target gift cards for each child’s birthday; underwriting the Hathaway-Sycamores School 2015 graduation ceremony and luncheon; funding the Career Development Job Training Program for the Transitional Living children; providing musical equipment for the Music Room; providing walkie talkies for the campus; hosting the annual Halloween carnival; creating handmade throws for the residents; providing the residents with Easter goodie bags, and providing funds for cottage bathroom remodeling projects.

Outgoing co-president Jennifer Herzer was presented with the President’s Plaque for her many accomplishments as president these past two years. New presidents Laura Campobasso and Michele Listo introduced the new Executive and Appointed Board: Vice President of Fundraising/Fall Joy Padula and Beatrice Harendza; Vice President of Fundraising/Spring Sue Perry and Jennifer Herzer; Parliamentarian Laurie Rodli; Supportive Membership Kelly Springer; Secretary/Hospitality Carol DeFond; Treasurer Diane Moldofsky; and Board Liasion Julie McCarty.
