Pasadena police officers arrested a 36-year-old Pasadena resident after he allegedly shoplifted from a CVS Pharmacy at 900 N. Lake Avenue Monday afternoon.

Police said the suspect also attempted to strike a store employee with a rock when the employee confronted him as he was leaving.

“The suspect picked up a rock from the ground and threatened to strike the victim,” Lt. Mark Goodman said. “Fearing for his safety, the victim backed off of the suspect and called the Police Department. Officers arrived and detained the suspect without incident.”

The incident happened at about 4:27 p.m., Goodman said.

Goodman added the suspect, identified as Angel Dominguez, 36, from Pasadena, was arrested and booked for robbery and attempted assault with a deadly weapon.

The store employee, a 43-year-old man from Glendale, did not suffer any injuries during the incident.

Goodman said officers recovered the stolen items and returned them to the store.
