Updated: Young Man Critically Injured In Car Wreck Near Langham Huntington Hotel Early Sunday Dies in Hospital

[Updated 8:30 a.m.]   A young Alhambra man in his twenties who was ejected from the car he was driving after it crashed and overturned on South Oak Knoll Avenue near the the Langham Huntington Hotel about 1:16 a.m. Sunday has died.

Pasadena Fire Dept. spokesperson Lisa Derderian says arriving personnel located the car just north of Old Mill Road, then found the victim. He was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.

Police Lt. John Mercado said that although the man was rushed into emergency surgery the doctors were not able to save his life. The victim suffered massive internal injuries, Mercado said.

Authorities said there were no other occupants in the car.

Pasadena police traffic section officers closed South Oak Knoll Avenue between Kemore Road and Old Mill Road from 1:30 a.m. to about 7 a.m. to conduct a full investigation, Mercado said.

No further identification of the victim has yet been made by authorities.
