Pasadena police say a 40-year-old Colton man was gunned down in a murder attempt as he walked along North Raymond Avenue about 3:30 p.m., shot by two unknown men who escaped in an automobile.
Lt. John Luna said the victim received life-threatening gunshot wounds.
“The victim was walking south in the 900 block of North Raymond when the suspects’ vehicle passed by and fired a gunshot at the victim,” Luna said. “The victim was struck by a bullet causing him to fall to the ground.”
Luna said the vehicle contained two Hispanic men. It continued southbound on North Raymond Avenue after the shooting.
Arriving officers established a containment. The victim was transported to a local hospital by Pasadena Fire Dept. paramedics, Luna said.
Detectives were notified and responded to the scene, Luna said.
