Published on Saturday, November 16, 2019 | 6:26 am

A man who climbed over the fence of the eastbound SR-134 Freeway bridge between San Rafael Ave. and Orange Grove Boulevard about 11:26 a.m. Friday was found dead in the Arroyo below a short time later.

The busy ten-lane freeway bridge is located just yards north of the Colorado Street Bridge.

California Highway Patrol logs indicate the man was seen by numerous eastbound drivers, some of whom reportedly pulled over to the shoulder to attempt to prevent the man from jumping.

CHP and Pasadena police and firefighters responded within minutes to the bridge and to the area below the bridge.

Searchers found the body of a 37-year-old Hispanic man in the lower end of a wash below the overpass, Altadena CHP Officer Phil Cooper said.

The man was pronounced dead by Pasadena Fire Dept. paramedics at 12:02 p.m., Cooper said.

The man’s identity has not been released. The investigation into the death remains under investigation.
