Pasadena police officers are searching for four men who reportedly robbed a 23-year-old Pasadena resident as he was walking on Lake Avenue in Pasadena about 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.

The four suspects were in a vehicle that pulled alongside the victim as he was walking in the 1300 block of N. Lake Avenue.

Pasadena police Lt. Pete Hettema said that according to the victim, one of the suspects exited the vehicle and pointed a handgun at the victim, while another one joined in and demanded the victim’s wallet.

“The victim tried to run from the suspects but fell down in the middle of the street,” Hettema said. “He was then confronted by all four suspects. Fearing for his safety, the victim threw his wallet in the direction of the suspects and ran south on Lake Avenue. The suspects got back into their vehicle and fled west on Claremont Street from Lake Avenue, with the wallet and its contents.”

The victim sustained some minor injuries resulting from the fall but did not require medical treatment, Hettema said.

The victim did not report the incident to police until much later on Wednesday.

Anyone with information about the incident or the suspects is advised to call the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4241.
