A young Pasadena man chasing three robbers who entered his home and stole his laptop was slashed with a knife by one the suspects near the Allen Avenue Gold Line station about 10:14 p.m. Sunday night, police said.
Earlier, the 26-year-old victim likely was followed home by the trio, police said.
The victim entered the home in the 1700 block of Wagner Street and used the bathroom. When he finished and came back to his belongings he encountered the three men stealing his laptop.
The three fled with the victim in pursuit, Lt. Max Dahlstein said.
The victim pursued the men south on Allen Avenue, where two broke off and ran west on Maple Street.
The suspect with the laptop ran to the Gold Line Station on Allen Avenue, where the victim caught up with the suspect at the turnstile and offered to pay the suspect for the return of the laptop.
Instead, Dahlstein said the suspect pulled out a knife and slashed the victim on his back and left elbow.
The victim was not seriously injured.
The suspect is believed to have boarded a Metro train. He is described as being a Hispanic man in his early 20’s, standing about 5’9” and having acne. He carried a large green backpack.
His accomplices were described by the victim as “thin” young Hispanic men.
There had been no arrests as of late Sunday night, Dahlstein said.
