Man on 210 Freeway Struck and Killed Early New Year’s Day, Pasadena’s First Fatality of 2018

A man running on the westbound I-210 Foothill Freeway near the Fair Oaks Avenue offramp was struck by several cars and killed early Monday morning.

The unidentified man was pronounced dead at the scene, California Highway Patrol officials said.

The incident was reported at 1:11 a.m. Both CHP and the Pasadena Fire Dept. responded

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert shutting down all westbound lanes of the freeway at Fair Oaks Avenue, said Officer Stephan Brandt. All westbound traffic was diverted at Marengo Avenue.

The lanes were closed off for several hours overnight as investigators recorded evidence and the Coroner’s office removed the remains.
