The Los Angeles Coroner’s Office has identified a man whom a passing motorist had seen slumped face down in the bushes in the corner of Tamarac Drive and La Loma Road on Thursday morning, September 26, and reported to police.

Arriving officers found the body of a man.

Police closed down the intersection Thursday for almost three hours for the investigation and arrival of a coroner’s team.

“There [were] no signs of foul play,” Pasadena Police Commander Jason Clawson said shortly after the discovery.

Coroner’s officials said the Caucasian male was identified as Mladen Matic, 76, who may have been homeless.

The immediate cause of death was ruled as atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease, according to the deputy medical examiner.
