It’s Women-Owned Small Business Industry Day on Tuesday, March 7, an event that promises to bring women entrepreneurs in contact with NASA Centers, large businesses and government agencies and provide them information on how to do business with these organizations.

Sponsored by the NASA Management Office (NMO), the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the City of Pasadena and the Pasadena Chamber of Commerce, Industry Day will be held at the Pasadena Convention Center at 300 E. Green Street in Pasadena.

Although the event will highlight programs and services with the Women Owned Small Business (WOSB) community, all businesses are welcome. Industry Day will feature matchmaking sessions with NASA, JPL and the City of Pasadena; a panel discussion on successful WOSBs hosted by the Goldman Sachs Foundation; a panel discussion on upcoming opportunities at the various NASA Centers, JPL, the City of Pasadena and large businesses; and networking activities.

Participants will also have an opportunity to host a table to discuss their products and services with other attendees, although exhibit tables are limited and first priority will be given to WOSBs.

Among the large business exhibitors that will be participating are Aerojet Rocketdyne Inc., Boeing, Burns and Mc Donnell, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, GP Strategies Corporation, Harris Corporation, Jacobs, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics and Lockheed Martin SSC, ManTech International Corporation, Parsons, Raytheon, Rudolph and Sletten, SAIC, Toshiba America Medical System and United Launch Alliance.

In the tentative agenda, WOSBs can register for matchmaking starting at 7:30 a.m. All other small businesses can register starting at 8 a.m. After welcome messages and greetings, NASA’s Office of Small Business Programs will provide an overview of the NASA/JPL Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs.

The City of Pasadena’s Department of Finance will discuss the Pasadena First-Buy Local Program before the morning break, and exhibits, networking and matchmaking will open by about 9:45 a.m.

A panel discussion on Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program will start at 10 a.m., and another panel, on Small Business Opportunities, will start at 11 a.m. The event should be over by 12:30 p.m.

Industry Day is free to Pasadena Chamber members, but participants must register in advance through EventBrite. You can find a link online at www.pasadena-chamber.org and click on the link under the Events tab.

Large companies that want to be exhibitors can sign up there as well. There is no charge to exhibit or attend the Industry Day procurement forum.
