Margaret Batjer, concertmaster of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra since 1998, will present a master class to select students of the Pasadena Conservatory of Music on Monday, January 30 at 7:00 pm.

Ms. Batjer, one of the most recognizable and beloved musicians in the Los Angeles classical music world, made her first solo appearance at the age of 15 with the Chicago Symphony in Gian Carlo Menotti's Violin Concerto. Since then, she has been re-engaged by the Chicago Symphony, as well as a succession of other major orchestras. She has recorded the Bach Concerto for Two Violins in D minor for Philips with Salvatore Accardo and the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, and more recently with Hilary Hahn and LACO, directed by Jeffrey Kahane, for Deutsche Grammophon.

Admission is free for Conservatory students and families; $15 for the general public; $10 for senior citizens, students and military personnel with I.D.
