Marshall Fundamental School Winter Guard Champions!

Marshall’ Winter Guard placed first this weekend at WinterGuard Association of Southern California Championships (Division: SCHOLASTIC-AAA). Coach Rob Guzman credits the first place win to the team’s hard work and dedication. They put in 12 hour days during school days and school holidays. “You are by far the most hard working group I’ve had and you deserved the gold around your necks,” Coach Keila Crook posted on the team’s Facebook page. Their championship season was rocky but the team pushed through hardships and adversity learning important life lessons about hard work, reaching goals and to never quit, ever!

As recently as 4/6/18 the team placed 4th at a local competition. They incorporated the judge’s feedback from the 4th place finish and came through with the first place performance when it counted most, the Championships.

Lastly, the team couldn’t have made it without the support of parent Irene Yung who worked tirelessly to raise funds for everything from paying for the coaching staffs’ salaries to covering tournament expenses lightening the financial burden on the students.

Congratulations Marshall Winter Guard!
