Mayor’s Holiday Tree Lighting Celebration Brings Festive Performers, Santa Claus to City Hall Friday

Published on Saturday, December 7, 2019 | 6:13 am

A very special family-oriented event Friday night brought great live entertainment to the steps of City Hall, including, by popular demand, a triumphant return performance from the thundering Wilson Middle School Drum Corps, along with the Jackie Robinson Center’s Senior Dance Team, Ballet Folklorico Nahuatzen, the Pasadena High School Dance Team, Norma Coombs Choir, and Elements Choir.

And, of course, the evening just wouldn’t have been complete without favorite local emcees, that Dynamic Duo of retired police Lt. Rodney “Rodney D” Wallace and Sgt. Glen Thompson of the Pasadena Police Department.

Of course, the two men of the hour were in attendance: Pasadena Mayor Terry Tornek and, straight from the North Pole, Santa Claus himself (with his sidekick, Elf Oddball).

Santa was helped by Youth Ambassador Elves Mario Clotter, Ulises Salinas, and Adilene De La Torre.
