A memorial service in remembrance of Sarap Pantip Wong, 19, a former South Pasadena resident who had recently graduated from Futures Academy in Pasadena, will be held on Saturday, May 25, at Evergreen Baptist Church, at 323 Workman Mill Road in La Puente.
Wong, a student at Seattle Pacific University, was killed during a crane collapse in Seattle, Washington on April 27.
She was a passenger in an Uber driver’s car driving through downtown Seattle when a crane erected for the construction of a Google campus collapsed and landed on six vehicles on Mercer Street. She was in one of those vehicles.
The accident killed three other people, including two workers in the construction site.
Wong’s family announced the memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday and will be followed by a reception.
The service will be live-streamed, the announcement said. A URL of the live stream will be announced as soon as possible.
