More than 100 runners are expected to participate Sunday morning in the Pasadena Pacers Running Club’s “Unity Run” around the Rose Bowl in support of the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings.

“We want to recognize the unbreakable spirit of the runners of our community by bringing together clubs from the Pasadena area to run,” Pasadena Pacers Vice President John Beatty told the Pasadena Star-News.

The run is scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Sunday. Beatty has begun a Facebook page at facebook.com/unityrunners to provide a forum to connect all the Unity Runs that are happening around the country in solidarity with the Boston Marathon victims, the newspaper reported.

Runners who have participated in the Boston Marathon in the past are especially encouraged to run on Sunday and share their stories with other runners, Beatty told the Star-News.
