Burnt toast and coffee in bed are nice, but a free hair cut and makeover, that’s something a mom can get excited about.
On May 10, 2019, ChapCare, the leading community health center in Pasadena, partnered with Paul Mitchell The School Pasadena, to give back to community mothers.
“I’m a mother too, and I really feel that somebody providing me with the special input of professional makeup and hairdressing just goes to honor me,” said ChapCare’s Chief Executive Officer Margaret Martinez during the event. “And I hope that our patients and mothers feel the same way as we’re providing this special perk for them.”
Paul Mitchell The School Pasadena is, one of about 100 schools and 100,000 salons in the Paul Mitchell network, and offers courses leading to certifications for cosmetologists, barbers, estheticians, and nail techs.
Paul Mitchell The School Pasadena, located at 825 EastGreen Street, regularly sends their students to these events as part of their community outreach, said Pierre Johnson Jr., Learning Leader at the school.
“We’re serving as many guests as we can get a hold of, as many as we can make beautiful,” Johnson said. “We go to so many events like this, and we do this for the purpose of just connecting with the community and it’s just really refreshing. That’s what this is about.”
ChapCare operates four health centers in Pasadena, including its Lincoln Health Center at 2055 North Lincoln Avenue, which is the only Child Health Home in the area ChapCare provides pediatric medical and dental care, behavioral health and substance use counseling, and vision services for children and adults.
