Published on Monday, January 28, 2013 | 5:55 pm

Nationally renowned author/speaker John Medina will present “Principles for Surviving and Thriving at Work, Home and School” to parents and members of the Westridge and independent school communities. This presentation will take the place of the regularly scheduled January Westridge Parent Association meeting on January 30th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. for faculty and staff and from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. for the Parent presentation at the Fran Norris Scoble Performing Arts Center, located at 324 Madeline Drive, Pasadena.

Medina, a developmental molecular biologist, has a lifelong fascination with how the mind reacts to and organizes information. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller, “Brain Rules,” a provocative book that discusses the way school and work environments are designed. He is an affiliate Professor of Bioengineering at the University of Washington School of Medicine and Director of the Brain Center for Applied Learning Research at Seattle Pacific University.

A Q&A will follow, so attendees may wish to read his best-selling book Brain Rules before attending the presentation. There is no cost for attending the event and parents are welcome to bring guests.
