Neighborhood Church’s Green Council Presentation: “How to Murder Your Hungry Lawn”

Published on Thursday, October 9, 2014 | 12:41 pm

Lawns are often the largest portion of one’s household water budget, so replacing the standard lawn with less thirsty plants becomes more important as rainfall becomes less dependable. Native plant expert Roger Klemm will talk about the history of the lawn, regional and local climate and water resources, the resources that go into maintaining a lawn, and the ecological benefits and drawbacks of lawns. Some alternatives will be presented as well as logistics of how to go about implementing the transition from a resource consumptive landscape to a landscape that supports the environment.

“How to Murder Your Hungry Lawn,” lecture will be held at Neighborhood Church’s Living Room on Saturday, October 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.
