The Rev. Jerred K. McDaniel was recently appointed as the new pastor of the First AME Zion Church. First AME Zion Church is located at 1085 N. Raymond Avenue in Pasadena,
Bishop Staccato Powell, presiding prelate of the Western Episcopal District of the AME Zion Church, announced the appointment during the 97th Session of the Southwest Rocky Mountain Conference, which was held at the Martin Temple AME Zion Church in Compton, according to the L.A. Sentinel.
A Montgomery, Alabama native, McDaniel has a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration and a Master of Science degree in human resource management from the Troy University of Montgomery in Alabama, the report said.
McDaniel also serves as the Los Angeles Area Manager for AAA Parking, the report added. AAA Parking is an Atlanta based parking management company that operates and manages full-service valet and self-parking operations for over 200 properties, according to the company’s Linkedin page.
First AME Zion Church, originally called the First Church Pasadena, was started in the home of Mr. and Mrs. H.W. Randolph at 353 Vernon Avenue in Pasadena. It was then called Randolph AME Zion Church. In 1929, the church moved to 1146 Sunset Avenue.
On “March 17, 1930, the church changed to First AME Zion Church, Pasadena.”
