Pasadena’s City Council will not conduct its regularly scheduled meeting Monday and will only be meeting twice this month.

Monday’s City Council meeting for January 4, 2016 was cancelled in a notice last December 31, and the January 18 meeting will also be cancelled, leaving only January 11 and 25 as meeting days for the month.

Two public hearings have been scheduled for the January 11 meeting. One of these is about the proposal to “implement the Water System Capital Improvements Charge Formula pursuant to Municipal Code Chapter 13.20.035,” and the other one is the appeal of a Design Commission decision to the City Council related to plans to demolish a potentially historic house at 180 South Euclid Avenue.

The January 11 meeting will be start with a closed session at 5:30 p.m. followed by the public meeting at 6:30 p.m. The public hearings will start at 7 p.m.

These meetings will be among City Manager Michael J. Beck’s last appearances at Pasadena City Council meetings, as he prepares to vacate his post after an eight-year stint.

Beck confirmed in November he is leaving Pasadena City Hall in February to start a new career as Administrative Vice Chancellor at UCLA.

City Council meetings are held at the Council Chamber on the second floor of City Hall, at 100 North Garfield Avenue in Pasadena.
