Published on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 | 12:53 pm

Bring the whole family to Old Pasadena for a frightfully good time with free Halloween fun, as well as Day of the Dead festivities. On Saturday, October 24, visit One Colorado to decorate your own jack-o-lantern, and on Sunday, October 25, be sure to bring your primped pup and join the doggy costume parade. Then, for the main event, on Saturday, October 31, put on your Halloween costume and trick-or-treat at more than 100 participating businesses in Old Pasadena. Kids will meet and greet their favorite movie characters along Colorado Boulevard. In One Colorado’s courtyard, families can commemorate the evening with a free “haunted” photo, and end the evening watching a classic stop-animation monster romp on the outdoor screen!

This is the first year that we celebrate Day of the Dead in Old Pasadena. We’ve asked local businesses and artists to come together and create altars for visitors to tour starting Friday, October 30, and continuing through Sunday, November 1. Stop by Mercantile Place for our Day of the Dead Fiesta from 1:00-4:00pm on Sunday, November 1, including free activities and giveaways. The Armory Center for the Arts and Color Me Mine Pasadena are offering kids crafts, in addition to Day of the Dead face painting, a traditional altar installation, and free paletas (popsicles) to the first 200 guests. Aztec Fire Dancers will provide an authentic ritual performance with plumed costumes and drums.
