Cookies are needed for hospitalized, homeless and special needs veterans as part of the annual “Operation Cookie” project to be held on Wednesday, May 22nd at the Woman’s Club of South Pasadena. Volunteers are also needed to help receive and sort cookies, and work on the “assembly line,” where cookies are individually packed into decorative containers labeled with a special thank you to the veterans for their military service.
This year cookies will be delivered to Veteran’s Hospitals throughout the southland, to the Wounded Warriors Battalion at Camp Pendleton, Military Women in Need (MWN), and other groups, as well as to homeless veterans. Last year, cookies were provided to almost 2000 hospitalized, homeless and special needs veterans in time for Memorial Day.
Home baked cookies or quality pre-packaged cookies, including sugar free cookies, (two dozen minimum) can be delivered to the Clubhouse at 1424 Fremont Avenue between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 22nd. Alternate delivery may be made the evening before on Tuesday May 21st between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm. The Club’s popular curbside “cookie drop off” service will be provided both days.
