Pacific Oaks College & Children’s School (PO) announces the appointment of Robert Boyman as Executive Director of Pacific Oaks Children’s School. With a specific focus on anti-bias and emergent curriculum, the Children’s School has been a pioneer in progressive early childhood education for over 70 years.

Prior to his official appointment, Boyman had previously served as the school’s interim director for the past 10 months.

“Bob’s passion for early childhood education is apparent immediately upon meeting him,” said Patricia A. Breen, Ph.D., President of Pacific Oaks College & Children’s School. “The school has a bright future under his direction.”

The newly minted Executive Director has strengthened the Children’s School commitment to emergent and anti-bias education since taking on a leadership role last year.

Under Boyman’s direction, the school increased community connections with local preschools and early childhood educators in order to expand access and opportunities for parent and teacher education. In keeping with the school’s play-based model of learning, the Children’s School is now designated as a demonstration site for The Outdoor Classroom Project, an organization dedicated to increasing the quality, quantity, and benefit of outdoor experiences in early care and education programs.

“We are proud to continue the important legacy of this historic institution under Bob Boyman’s leadership. He is deeply committed to the PO community and to the continuous development of children, parents, families and the School,” said Melanie Sauer, Chief Operating Officer for PO.

Boyman brings over 22 years of preschool training and administrative experience to his role as Executive Director. Boyman’s journey in education began at the University of La Verne, where he earned a B.A. and M.A. in Child Development. Currently, he is working on his Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, CA.
