This year’s Jazz Day Festival will offer opportunities for High School Ensembles to perform in front of and work with a clinician; attend masterclasses and breakout sessions on a wide range of topics:

  • Improvisation and combo performance.
  • Instrument-specific sessions on woodwinds, brass, and rhythm section instruments.
  • The chance to be recorded using Westerbeck Recital Hall and the new recording studio.
  • This non-competitive festival, held in a relaxed, no-pressure atmosphere, is unique in that it is designed to get ensembles geared up for the coming Spring and Summer competition season.

Spring 2017 clinicians include PCC faculty Zac Matthews, Daniel Cole, Dave Tull, Mary Durst, David Sills, Brian Carmody, and Jacques Voyemant.

For more information please contact Dr. Brian Carmody at bcarmody1@pasadena.edu or (626) 585-7068.
