Pasadena City College officials said Tuesday morning they plan to reopen parking Lot 4 this afternoon, which had been closed since Friday night after the 7.1 earthquake that hit near Searles Valley.

Officials had discovered cracking and called upon structural engineers to guarantee the soundness of the facility.

Now checked, the parking structure is expected to be opened this after noon.

PCC spokesperson Alex Boekelheide said, “The structural engineer completed his inspection yesterday and the facility has been cleared for public use. Our custodial department is taking the opportunity to complete some housekeeping in the structure this morning but we expect it to be reopened by this afternoon.”
