Ms. Keri Stokstad, Executive Director for the Pasadena Community Access Corp. (Pasadena Media), www.pasadenamedia.tv, recently was named as one of the San Gabriel Valley’s top Women Achievers for 2014 by Business Life magazine. Ms. Stokstad was among six Pasadena women included among 27 women selected for the prestigious award featured as part of the magazine’s historic 25th anniversary issue.

The awards were presented Sept. 29, 2014 during a sold-out luncheon at the Glendale Hilton Hotel attended by more than 400 community leaders, elected officials, business and industry representatives from throughout Southern California. Pasadena Mayor Bill Bogaard attended the luncheon in recognition of Ms. Stokstad’s achievement.

“The City is grateful to have Keri Stokstad at the helm of PCAC. During the past three years, she has consistently demonstrated her professional strengths and capabilities, especially with the significant accomplishment of building and opening a new television production studio here in Pasadena. Her work has ensured our community will have a network hub for our public, education and government cable channels that will enable our collective voices to be heard for years to come through local television programming,” Mayor Bogaard said.

Stokstad has been the chief executive director for Pasadena Media since December 2011. She is responsible for 16 employees, a $1.2 million budget and working with dozens of regional TV producers, community partners, and civic leaders to generate original local broadcast and online programming content for Pasadena and other San Gabriel Valley communities.

“It’s an incredible honor to be recognized as part of a truly amazing group of women who have all made such a big impact in their communities during their successful careers,” Ms. Stokstad said. “I could not have achieved this honor without the support of my family, the PCAC Board of Directors and the hardworking staff at Pasadena Media; they are the ones who deserve recognition and I am grateful for all they do to help serve our community every day.”

Award winners received special certificates from California Senator Carol Lui; Assembly member Mike Gatto; U.S. Rep. Adam Schiff, and Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich. Greg Krikorian, Publisher of Business Life, www.businesslife.com, presented all award winners with plaques featuring the magazine’s front cover featuring a group photograph of the 2014 Women Achievers. The magazine published profiles of winner, noting their achievements and thoughts on a wide range of topics facing today’s women and their advice to tomorrow’s women achievers.

Other Pasadena honorees were: Melinda Carmichael, Treasurer, Women at Work; Betty McWilliams, Executive Director, Foothill Unity Center, Inc.; Sona Paparian, Marketing Professional, Pasadena Armenian Genocide Memorial; Jennifer McLain, Business Development Manager, San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership, and Mary Ann Bennett, Treasurer, Soroptimist International, Altadena/Pasadena.
