Pasadena Company Earns $29 Million Contract from U.S. Agency for International Development

A Pasadena-based engineering company announced Tuesday that the U.S Agency for International Development has awarded a $29 million contract to improve the water supply, sanitation and hygiene in countries within the sub-Saharan Africa and Southeast Asia.

Tetra Tech Engineering received the five-year Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Partnerships and Learnings for Sustainability project to work with USAID’s Health Bureau and increase access to clean water and promote sanitation behaviors in rural areas, according to a statement released by the company.

Nearly one-third of the world’s population lacks access to proper sanitation facilities and clean water — particularly women and children, according to the statement. Tetra Tech will be providing support in 24 high-priority countries by developing and testing technology that will better access to clean water, sanitation and infrastructure.
