Pasadena Company to Demo Facial Recognition Software to Health Industry

Pasadena-based tech company NextGate will be showcasing this month new healthcare industry solutions that use facial recognition software – technology that until recently was limited to security and law enforcement applications – to improve record-matching accuracy among patients and increase speed and efficiency in their care.

Using this vendor-neutral biometrics software, doctors at hospital emergency rooms and critical care units will have faster access to a patient’s medical history and decide on the best course of action more expediently.

NextGate, a leader in providing patient and provider identity management for the healthcare industry, will be showcasing the facial recognition solution and other products during the Health Industry Information Management Systems Society 2017 (HIMSS17) Annual Conference and Exhibition, February 19 to 23 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

With a live demo, NextGate will showcase the neural network (computer system modeled on the human brain and nervous system) and machine learning capabilities of the new facial recognition software as a low-cost solution that can be deployed in various patient registration and check-in environments, from self-service kiosks to emergency rooms.

A company press release said NextGate will also be presenting its other customer-proven approaches to patient and provider identification, and interoperability solutions, including its Enterprise Master Patient Index (EMPI), Provider and Organization Registry, XDS (Cross-Enterprise Document Sharing) Registry, Event and Relation Registry, and its iDAS or Intelligent Data Aggregation Server.

The live demo of the facial recognition solution and other NextGate products will be shown at exhibit booth 4003 during HIMSS17.
