It’s a “chocolate show.” How much more do you need to know?
The 13th Annual Los Angeles Chocolate Salon beckons. It’s set for Sept. 29 in the Pasadena Convention Center.
Founded in 2007, the Chocolate Salon conducts regional tasting events of the finest in artisan, gourmet, and premium chocolates and confections. Organizers call it the “premier major chocolate show in the Los Angeles area this millennium.”
Since that founding, the salon has become the place where chocolate aficionados, fanatics, lovers, and addicts, yes addicts, can taste and experience chocolate from some of the world’s culinary urban centers.
The salon also features chocolate tasting, demonstrations, chef and author talks and interviews by TasteTV’s Chocolate Television program.
And here’s the list of choclát purveyors scheduled to be on hand: Amano; Michael’s; All Star Dips; Goufrais; Andrea’s Truffles; Raphio;, Mignon;, Truffles N Toffee; P.O.P Candy Co.; Food Market Gypsy;Kokak Chocolate; The Cocoa Exchange, Marti Chocolatt; Cocoa Noir Cafe; Fix;, LetterPress;, 3D Candies, Ethel M;, VeneCacao, Napa Valley; PRP Wine; My Tea Therapy; and Gourmet Blends, to name a few.
The speaker lineup features Susie Norris, author and founder of Food Market Gypsy, who’s a pastry chef, educator, and food-focused traveler. She taught baking at Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts and ran an award-winning artisan chocolate business in Los Angeles for a decade.
Norris has written several books including “Chocolate Bliss,” “Hand-Crafted Candy Bars,” and the newest, “A Baker’s Passport,” based on her culinary travel blog, www.foodmarketgypsy.com, winner of the IACP Digital Media Award.
Italian food ambassador Ale Gambini, a Los Angeles-based food writer, cookbook author, and award-nominated host chef in a web series, will also be speaking. Gambini develops recipes for the most prestigious Italian brands. She teaches secrets of Italian cucina to food enthusiasts worldwide.
Other speakers include Jessica Ferraro, a craft and chocolate bar expert, and founder of Bar Cacao; Master Artisan Chocolate maker Art Pollard of Amano Artisan Chocolates in Utah; and Master Artisan Chocolate maker Michael Benner of Michael’s Chocolates in San Francisco.
