A local married couple in their sixties committed suicide together in the garage of their Casa Grande Street home earlier this week, an official with the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner said.

Assistant Chief Coroner Investigator Ed Winter said that Douglas Whitney Quinn, 60, and Elizabeth Roberts Quinn, 62, had both died of asphyxia carbon monoxide intoxication and that both deaths have been ruled suicide.

“They were having some family issues going on,” Winter said. “They also left a note.”

The bodies were found around 2 p.m. Wednesday in the 2000 block of Casa Grande Street.

“Other family members contacted law enforcement to check on them,” Chief Coroner Investigator Craig Harvey told the Pasadena Star-News earlier. “They were concerned. They haven’t heard from them.”

The pair were pronounced dead at the scene at 2:01 p.m. on April 16 by a Pasadena police officer, Winter said.
